The Revised Tribes

Black Furies

Throughout history, Black Furies have been activists and agitators. They are at the front lines of change in every era, from abolition and women’s suffrage, to gay rights in the 70s and 80s, to today’s Black Lives Matter movements. Around the world, Black Furies have fought against child marriage, sex trafficking, and genocide. They have long been proponents of true equal rights for all. They believe that oppression of any kind is the Wyrm made manifest in the world.  The influence of the Black Furies can be seen in the more socialist, women-led, egalitarian societies around the world that are innovating ways for mankind to shed their Wyrm-influence and strive to sustainably care for the Earth.

Bonegnawers

From the earliest of times, societies of all kinds have depended on their workers and laborers, and the Werewolves are no exception. The Bone Gnawers come together to support and uplift those who are most often overlooked, and yet without whom society would falter: farmers, plumbers, janitors, mechanics, bartenders, builders, security guards, and more. They believe humans themselves are one of the most powerful weapons against the Wyrm. Their extensive network of working class contacts has proven crucial in some of the most successful infiltrations, attacks, and downfalls of Pentex and other Wyrm-tainted industries over the years. The Bone Gnawers are dedicated to fighting the Wyrm from within its most tainted strongholds.

Children of Gaia

The Children of Gaia are home to healers and restorers of all kinds. From organizing river clean-ups to ensuring the physical health and wellbeing of human kinfolk, anyone with a call to heal and renew Gaia and her inhabitants are welcomed into the fold of the Children of Gaia. They uniquely combine environmentalism and medicine in their approach to healing and strengthening Gaia. Many have a large role in environmental clean-up and reforestation efforts worldwide. They also have an extensive network of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, surgeons, and other providers that care for kinfolk and other human allies. Their ranks include general practitioners, social workers, conservationists, nurses, midwives, ecosystem experts, zookeepers, and more.

Fianna

In what seems to be a never-ending battle against the Wyrm, the job of keeping up morale has become more and more essential. The Fianna, through art, music, stories, dance, film-making, and other creative expressions, keep the hearts and souls of the Garou Nation nurtured to ward off the ever-present shadow of Harano. The honed skills of this highly-creative tribe also help the Garou gain allies against the Wyrm through media, pop culture, and viral trends. By both keeping the spirits of the Garou Nation high, and creatively influencing human society to turn against the Wyrm, this tribe fills its ranks with a wide range of talented, creative Garou.

Get of Fenris

Warriors from all walks of life are welcome in the ranks of the Get of Fenris. From members of the military, to law enforcement, to self-defense instructors, all who seek to physically strike down the Wyrm and foes of Gaia find a home in the Get of Fenris. Their ranks provide skilled warriors, as well unparalleled strategic wisdom, in battles against the Wyrm and its minions. They also provide tactical and physical training to the other tribes, ensuring everyone is battle-ready when needed.

Glass Walkers

While what defines technological advancement changes over the years, the Glass Walkers have always been on the bleeding edge of it. It has been the work of Glass Walkers, over the years, that have ensured that Werewolf society is both secured against technological warfare, and continually add innovative new technologies in their ongoing fight against the Wyrm. Members of this tribe have a special relationship to the Weaver and her kin, both monitoring her growing power for corruption, and also finding symbiotic ways to embrace her ways to strategically enhance the life, work, and goals of the Garou Nation.

Red Talons

As wild wolf populations worldwide continue to decline, the Red Talons serve as an important connection to the lupine aspect of the Garou Nation. As an all-Lupus tribe, they are an important home for the remaining Lupus kinfolk that go through First Change, often in zoos, preserves, or other scattered wildlife sanctuaries, requiring rescues and rehabilitation. The Red Talons help Lupus-born Garou adjust to a world heavily dominated by humans, and conversely, invite Homid-born Garou on retreats and visits to help them deeply reconnect with the Wyld. When it comes to the management and decisions that affect Lupus kinfolk and wolf populations worldwide, the Red Talons are granted total authority.

Shadow Lords

Many Shadow Lords have been known to call the conference room their home away from home. Big business, finance, and major industries, while often the most susceptible to the corruption of the Wyrm, are also bastions of power and resources that Shadow Lords have manipulated to profit the Garou Nation quite handsomely. Armed with an MBA and a firm handshake, Shadow Lords, alongside the Silver Fangs, are important sources of financial stability for the Garou Nation. Shadow Lords keep close ties with the business, financial, and industrial sector, by serving within their ranks or as consultants. This way, they can keep a close eye on the dealings of Pentex and other corporate faces of the Wyrm, and even influence large companies to further the goals of the Garou Nation.

Silver Fangs

From monarchies to presidencies to influential philanthropists, Silver Fangs have long been connected to seats of power and wealth. The well-managed trust funds of Silver Fangs have been an important financial resource for the entirety of the Garou Nation. From serving as local politicians, lobbyists, and on major nonprofit boards, Silver Fangs have helped preserve land, restrict industry, and gain access to “the rooms where it happens” to ensure Garou interests are protected. The importance of the Silver Fang connections and networks cannot be overestimated in these modern times.

Silent Striders

No society stays cohesive without its messengers. From sharing knowledge between remote Septs, to transporting resources and important items, to escorting Werewolves along Moon Bridges and Umbral Paths, the ever-nomadic Silent Striders have long been experts in getting from one place to another. These willing travelers are essential to keeping disparate locations connected and logistical supply chains moving. In modern times, they have also become experts in secure travel, and provide safe passage to the more remote locations on Earth and in the Spirit Realm. Their ranks include truckers, bikers, drivers, explorers, spirit guides, and other experts in transportation.

Stargazers

The mind of a Garou can quickly become a frightening, dark, and uncontrolled place, with often disastrous results. Stargazers serve Garou society by helping to regulate the inner beast in a myriad of ways. As the therapists, social workers, meditation teachers, and spiritual guides of the Garou Nation, Stargazers help resolve conflicts more peacefully, teach strategies for averting Frenzy, and are sought out to guide Garou back from Harano. Stargazers also serve as effective mediators between Garou and other changing breeds, as they are experts in keeping the Garou mind both sharp and stable. Garou life can also be filled with trauma, and Stargazers play an important role in mental and spiritual restoration.

Uktena

As the lore keepers, researchers, academics, and occult masters of the Garou Nation, the Uktena mystics are an invaluable source of strength. They meticulously record Gifts, Rites, and other essential Garou Lore, ensuring these powerful advantages can be passed onto future generations. As Gifts are discovered, and new Rites emerge and evolve, the Uktena ensure they are studied, recorded, and passed on to other Garou. The Uktena are also known for their valuable occult knowledge of the other supernatural creatures that inhabit Gaia (vampires, hunters, and other changing breeds), and are often consulted when the Garou must interact with them, be it peacefully or in battle.
